does anybody use jewellery affiliates...i am looking for some kind of revenue stream for one of my sites and i was thinking about Amazon but the widgets are pretty poor (images pretty poor and small) ,the big affiliate schemes are just banners and links which also look fairly naff, does anybody have any input??

any advice would be appreciated....:D

Can't you use the content widgets on AWIN, they have quite a few jewellery merchants like H-Samuel and you get 12.5% commission rate :p

not seen those doodlebug, awin are not going bust too are they......,problem i was having with amazon is i was doing everything one at a time and it was getting tedious and the images are very small, considering that jewellery isn't cheap to buy.....i'll check them out.....thanking you kindly sir

There are some pretty decent affiliate schemes in this area, e.g. H Samuel, Ernest Jones, F.Hinds ... I would use them. You can use a feed script if you don't like simple text links and banners.

I've been playing around with Affiliate Window and they have a nice little collection of jewellery items.

AF basically powers www.DiamondShop.co.uk

Good luck with dev'ing.

Barry > The descriptions aren't very clear on the homepage products, don't you think they should be in a more normal font ?

Also your search box says no results for 1ct and silver and gold :? important keywords I would think.

Totally agree with the font... it was basically a rush job, the site hasn't been live long and I've not yet plugged the search box in to the products, its only pulling posts (well reminded, lol)

I'll get on the case my little doodle'oodle'bug - Thanking you

I've now plugged all products in to the search box field of www.DiamondShop.co.uk - Thanks again for pointing this out.

i have decided to go with affiliate window,i have never been able to get my head around data feeds ,does anybody have any pointers...

instead of links and banners i am trying to set up a data feed and it's frying my small brain

any help please....my brain is about to melt...arrrggghhh

Price Tapestry script (approx £160) is reasonably easy to set up. This ink cartridges site shows the very basic script.

Long term, if you don't want to have to keep updating feeds (a bit of a hassle), then learn to use Awin XML Web Services and join the ShopWindow community.

Well, if you were using Price Tapestry, once you had put the Price Tapestry files on your server, you would have an online Price Tapestry admin area. This allows you to browse to the feed file on your local computer and select it for uploading. When uploading you have to map the Awin fields to the relevant Price Tapestry fields. So, the upload process takes the Awin feed and maps it into what Price Tapestry needs to work.

If you are going to scale with multiple sites, I would seriously think about learning web services just so you don't have to keep updating the feeds.

Give datafeedstudio (with wordpress plugin) a go. You can try it out for free.

If you need any pointers then PM me as I have it working on a few wordpress sites.

You have to upload feeds into a directory called feeds onto your server/hosting and then when you log into PT admin you will see the feed there and then you import it.

That will teach me for trying to answer things from memory! Thanks for the correction.
