I think that just becuase a name is cheap (e.g. sub £50) does not mean it has no value?

It seems that people also might think that because a domain appears in the bargin basement section it has no value - I mean why would the seller be selling it if it was any good?!

My personal hypothesis is that to realise the value and monetize these domains (or any domain really?) it requires some level of work - hosting, setup, web/minisite, seo + content - i'm thinking most of these low end domains arn't going to provide a turnkey parking revenue stream without doing this - but yet they could yield someone a nice little revenue stream if they were prepared to put a bit of work in.

Of course some of these domains are total rubbish so thats fair enough.

So my point is it seems people are becoming ultra 'snobby' in there choice of domains to develop now - even the newbs who could still pick up a few bargains I think want an instant result -o ris it just me?

Probably a case of people having to many domains with low UK exacts so they're are doing little bits on each site which = low revenue hence why I am concentrating on one main site for now, people don't seem to know what they want in domaining ? dev a big one, dev a few little ones, stock pile loads of them for a future investment ?

I had this problem and still getting to grips with what I actually want but a lot closer to it than I was 12 months ago.

People need to decide am I in to domaining or not ?
If no then go concentrate on something else
If yes then put the effort into it

Give it 3 years and only the true domainers will still be around + a few who are chasing the band wagon but missing it.

I've picked some nice bargains up for £5 off PenDragon and one has had 1266 visits since I bought it in 04/2009 and made £200 off a single holding page with 2 aff links. I took some of Rob or Mat (i think for circa £10) and made money. Granted its not MEGA money like catching UFC or anything.

I think people have the mentality that £50 isn't much so why bother, but when you have volume, then it adds up rapidly.

I see lots of these <£50 as no brainer punts, if there is an aff feed for the product and I can find 10 main products, and 2 up/cross sells then its good to punt for me.
