I've just put a backorder with caught.co.uk. I have the same domain back ordered somewhere else too, but reading through the forums here I've been led to believe they have a good success rate. I'll report back on whether they catch the domain for me.

Andy.

P.S. I've left my nominetID field blank in the caught.co.uk registrant form, does anyone know how to find out your nominet number? I do have a few .co.uk domains and have received the confirmation letters from nominet but I've looked through the letters and can't find an nominetID number.

Dont worry about the Nominet account yet as its only being used for DAC and TAG admin customers at the moment. Although it will be implemented for dropcatching accounts one day. But even then it wont be a required field.

Actually it should be an account no. on my TAG so the field be would be no good with any existing account your end :(

Just to update this, the domain I wanted dropped today but caught never managed to catch it. I don't know why, it is a .co.uk domain, however I also had it back ordered with snapnames who did manage to catch it, but now I've found myself in a bidding war. Maybe that's the reason caught.co.uk never managed to grab it, snapnames doing all they can because they know there was registered interest in the domain, who knows.

Thanks anyway aquanuke.

With due deference to Chris's great service. If you'd like a catch booked from 17th May onwards, please PM me. There are quite a few people here using our new DAC/EPP catch system which will formally launch on June 1st. £50/catch (subject to an evaluation) - try us and see.

Best,

Dale

Good domains are caught within milliseconds of them dropping and there are a lot of people all going for the same stuff, so there are no guarantees that you will get anything you book.

If the name was caught by snapnames that means the name was actually not dropped at its normal drop date. Otherwise I don't see how snapnames can beat Mr Bean :)

How come ? Chris is one TAG as are / should be Snapnames. Maybe they didn't have much booked and are getting lucky. Perhaps Snapnames are beating more prolific public catchers now and again due to not many people using them, therefore chasing fewer names.

Although I dont think there would have been alot of competition for that name I did miss it :(

It dropped very early in the day and I had 65 names in at the time so I was probs running with about 12-13 second cycle gap between names plenty of time for anyone to sneak one pass me :(

I still caught 25 so cant complain.

Chris - we are catching 67%, and we don't catch for ourselves, except on the odd occasion for testing purposes - are you using EPP?

Doulbletap: Give me a singular generic and I wil quote you. It won't be £50 for those. More like £1,000.

^ Fair enough.

As an aside, what's happening with Hyena? RR for ages, then Sus., now back to RR. I wouldn't mind, but the company's bloody dissolved anyway!

^ Hyena .co.uk's just done it again, that makes it RR, Suspended, RR, Suspended and now RR again!
Someone's working hard to salvage this one from a dissolved company then!
