Keeping current - Facebook, blog or simple html?

I'm going to put a live feed of sorts onto the front page of a few sites.... to maybe get some competitive advantage in terms of SEO...

Now what's the best method for this?

Should I simply do a facebook feed to the front page... or have a wordpress blog feed or similar... or simply keep 'current' by updating the website with html?

Anyone have any experiences with these different approaches... and which is the best for SEO?

If you used FB... does the feed actually give you any 'current' status with search engines?
