Over the last few days there has been quite a bit of news about Kylie Minogue settings up her own social networking site - called Kylie Konnect...its a pretty horrible site in my opinion... but why didn't they register kyliekonnect .co.uk or the typo's KylieConnect?
Is this just an oversight on their part? They have reg'd some other typos just not the kylieconnect one... which seems a bit of a mistake because I've seen quite a few sites mistakenly linking to the .com of kylieconnect

Or perhaps they just have no intention of it being a big network???:confused:

:)Thanks for the info. Interesting.
A few years ago I registered Kylies.co.uk and Kyliesplace.co.uk. A few enquiries and one low offer but now things may move.

I know from personal experience that Kylie is not particularly litigious

In this case I'm absolutely gobsmacked that "they" didn't register the .co.uk or the various c/k typos.

What about danniiconnect .com and daniikonnect.com? Surely someone must have stepped in there? I'm sure they have different promoters but sibling rivalry?

Funny you should say that, I was gonna reg DanniiKonnect.co.uk.

Admin: It's not yesterday (last post) it's now 23.20pm 8th Nov?

I reg'd kylieconnect.co.uk just in case.

It gets a dribble of traffic but nothing much.
Not really sure what to do with it either so its parked for now

Would it be a bad idea to put a forum up on it? Or can anyone think of any better ideas????

I think the click through should cover the reg cost eventually so nothing lost really.

I was pipped at the post with the .com :( That must be getting quite a bit of traffic... yahoo have wrongly pointed to kylieconnect.com and not kyliekonnect.com

Why are you even bothering with these

Just reg a generic type name, develop, park or try to sell

For the same reason that other people reg typo domains.
Free traffic to a parked site.

You are wasting your time why not build something that will have some future

Ok, I wont argue because you're the expert :-D
But like I said, just reg'd on the off chance. Over the 2 years it will make the £6 back so I shouldn't lose out.
...and its not really taking up any time. Now trying to develop a site and failing would be wasting my time :)

If in doubt, stick a blog on it. That's my motto lol. Then sign up to to the official Kylie site and get news and updates by email and then edit them a little and forward your edits to your Wordpress blog by email. Total lazzyness.
