I'm surprised at the prices they're making. I'm guessing most of these are being bid on by individuals to get their initial(s) which gives an indication of how crazy the .co.uk auctions will be once companies and heavyweight speculators get involved!

Should have run them with a fixed end time like conventional auctions. This extending by an hour lark is a pita.

I don't think a fixed end time would work, because the idea is to prevent sniping and basically to push the final price higher. That said, they probably should have set the time out much lower perhaps to 10 minutes to ensure things keep moving.

If they'd allowed proxy bidding and had a fixed end time I don't see the problem. If you don't want to be sniped you put in your maximum bid as the proxy bid. Job done.

Anything has to be better than this permitted £10 increment every 59 minutes.
