The circuit board has gone in the boiler in the house - well it has and it hasnt - tennants aren't willing to tap side of boiler so it works... anyway, letting agent is quoting me £800 for a new boiler including labour and parts... is that right? Birmingham, B23.

up the flue

is it a standard gas boiler Lee? if so £350+ the uk tax, plus fitting (normally 1 day) if not gas might be £100 more... ;)

Combi boiler... like I know the difference. £500 for the boiler, £100 parts and £200 labour sounds about right, maybe, I'm useless. I'm just getting back to business and this happens, what next...

Lee,

I'd say price isn't too far off if changing the boiler, but obviously a repair would be cheaper. I signed up to British Gas maintainance plan for monthly fee when mine went - Costs you bit more if there is an existing fault but they will (or did) take you on. From memory about £20 month min term 12 months.

Was few years ago so need check out further....

Thanks, I authorised the work and a new one should go in tomorrow. gauranteed five years apparantly so if I rent for five years thats one problem that won't occur again, it's an old boiler in an old house that does need some work - just I didn't the ag and extra pressure on the finances right now. If I was living there still, a tap on the boiler and it comes to life again but different story with tenants.

So far, I put new carpets in front and back bedroom before I left, landlord certificates, guttering call out, new pipe at the back - forgot to do that before I left anyway but I had a lot on. They're in until May, can't moan as it's family housing association and they're paid up front until May. If I have any money myself for Christmas I may send them a Christmas Pudding, I just hope the agent is treating them alright as that reflects on me.

I'm always being told I'm wrong and to be cold in business and treat women wrong. I guess it must've been the way I was brought up, nevermind.

Cheers
Lee
