Heya All,
I've been on a domain buying binge of late and then listing on SEDO - Got my first auction started now for http://ha.ma but thought I should join a forum to improve things (and help others if I can!)

My domains are all listed at http://names.is ...which is also in the list for sale, probably my best domain - worst is probably one I saw "Deleting Soon" and so bought is travelwank.com

Some I think are good, some are for websites that didn't take off and some I wondered why on earth I purchased the moment after I receipt came in (see above paragraph!)

Ouch, them extensions hurt

Ha.co.uk would be worth a mint but .ma ?

Welcome and good luck 8)

Thanks.

My theory is get in with the weird extensions now 'cos when they open up and people get used to things not being com/net/org then the 2 letter TLDs will be in demand. :)

It wasn't ha.ma I was after when I bought it but the Moroccan gov't denied my first request and the site wasn't keen on giving a refund due to the rules of not taking money our of the country!

Thanks.

This is a pretty much a dedicated UK extension forum, So guess the Brits with the wisdom to Sub-domain their name space still have their own 600+ possible extensions to play with.

Thats an 'interesting' portfolio... I am not sure about Nz.is being seen as New Zealand :)

Yeah, clutching at straws with nz.is - that was one of them I ordered when trying to get a feel for the ordering process to grab u.is when it was released.

As this is mainly UK domains here... is the consensus here that it's still worth getting .co.uk domains?

Without any doubt.

But you've got to get decent uk domains. The only uk domains you list are londoneletcs.org.uk, ge2010.co.uk, poo2u.co.uk - I think you can and need to try and do better on your uk quality threshold even if you only hand reg and never book catches.

If you can't get a domain with the word "elects" or "election", I think it's best to move on to another area rather than, most likely, getting nowhere with "eletcs".

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Best wishes, Richard

Yeah, All of those I bought for previous sites - did quite well at the last mayoral election with that misspelling :) I was thinking that the co.uk market would be dying with everything seeming to be going shorter and more global but seems I'm wrong so think I'll start looking into them to sell more seriously - well, they are cheap :)
