Making a Domain earn £1 a week

I would suggest you think about posting links to adult sites in your sig though... think its against forum rules and admin might ask you to take them off (im sure someone will correct me if im wrong though )

I take it off in a bit then....... so what I’m doing is not illegal....Basically if someone types my domain in the browser but go to another site that’s ok...even if my domain is not on the browser? Again I’m new J sorry for the virgin questions

I will do....I hope that happens every weekend... well I have to find out how it happened realy because I dont know. On friday I put the affilate link to the other site and then I just saw money coming in.

How do I check the traffic or is it that people just typed it in over the weekend or something ???

I have just been reading through this thread again which has been very useful for a complete newbie.

Quite a few people mentioned that they were going to try this route and I thought (since its been a couple of months) that it would be very useful if we had a bit of a roll call about people have got on.

I bought a few generic .org.uk domains with decent ovt results for those search terms... Its been about a month now and I've been so busy on some of my big projects that I haven't really had a chance to develop many mini sites.

I did publish 2 though, as a small test (they are satin and quasar - both in my sig)

Satin has made US$2.54, not going to be retiring on that but the site is done (a little SEO when I have time and I can get it listed higher) and I can leave it now. If every month it makes about £1.50, over 2 years thats £36 which is £30 profit. I have about 150 of these sites to do, so when I get round to it, if I even get this small sum from each that could equate to £5-6k per reg term... Not bad from domains that currently recieve zero traffic.

Not enough hours in the day though!!

Im sure plenty of people have much more exciting success stories than me! :lol:

Minisites (for me) are definitely the way to go.

I have now regd 14 names and all have landed on MSN (and some in google) at sometime in May.

Total earnings for May: $88.47

Earnings for June so far: $82.98

I stated earlier that I had been "borrowing" some content and changing a few words. Since then I have changed 4 sites and rewritten the content in my own words and it has made a huge difference. They are earning double what they did, as they are number 1 (instead of number 6) for their respective search terms.

It didn't take long. About 20 mins a site.



So for me now, it has to be:
1. keyword or keyword phrase
2. unique content


Keyword:
It can be anything, as long as someone is going to search for it.
garden shears
bunions
bicycle tyres


Domain name:
co.uk, org.uk or me.uk ?

What i've found is it doesn't matter. MSN and google like them all and do not differentiate between them.

Another tip when building your mini sites is to make use of the Google tilda search function (~keyword) a tilda is the little squiggle above the # key.

What this does is it gives you the words that Google group together or relate to each other.

If you use the keywords 'garden shears' as in the previous post you would get the following words that you could add to your content to make it more attractive to Google etc.

Results for 'Garden' (related words are highlighted)

garden
gardening
gardens
gardener
landscape
landscaping
lawn
plant
nursery

Results for 'Shears' (not a very good example)

shears
scissors

Don't try and get them all into one page, try spreading them over 2 or 3 pages then the search engines should give more weight to your domain for the keyword/phrase you are trying to score for

I finally had a go at my first ever mini site. Being a complete newbie to all of this it has taken me way too long to build and a lot of sweat, curses and tears!

But I would appreciate some feedback on design etc as I am now in search engines but seem to be getting v short visits - google anaytics tells me average time on site is 0s! Any ideas on what is scaring people off?

ps I know my google adsense is badly matched to content but this site was more about me learning the ropes to be honest (also i know the link on the right doesn't work yet, hoping to put that right today).

Change to "charset=iso-8859-1" to resolve the £ problem.

The page doesnt work for me, the center column is at the bottom of the page, meaning something in there is too large and needs reducing in size.

Thanks Firestars, no idea how I will fix the centre column problem will try!

Actually works ok in Firefox as it automatically moves over the text into the right column slightly.

I think its the top Google add thats causing the problem, try moving it to the smaller size.

First thing to ask yourself is how are people getting to your site? I'm guessing through a search engine or old links, as the domain is not an obvious type-in domain. Then, when you know how they're getting to you, you can change your content to give them what they want.

As for the design, I would change the top of the page so the content is higher up, as it is now half the page is filled with a picture that doesn't really relate to the site, a banner and a title which would be better at the start of the content.

Generally, people want to see information instantly. Again this is only my opinion but, you have far too much text packed into your page, you would do much better if you left a little bit more white space.

If you scroll down to the title that says "Who can reclaim Mortgage Exit Fees?" so that it's at the top of the page. I think this is about the right amount of info to display on a page at any one time. Also do you really need 'Latest News' and 'About us' if it's only a mini site to earn you money from adsense???

I think I'll take the plunge with some of my domains... news forthcoming on how I get on.

Update:
On the 14 sites, total earnings for June was $234.25 = £117.00

I am not here to blow my own trumpet. 10 weeks ago I never even had these names. I only regd after reading this thread. So I'm writing to give something back.

Follow what has been said on this thread and what is above.

1. Reg an exact keword/phrase.
2. Insert unique content.


What sort of things have I been regin?
