Hello all,

I've just purchased this domain name via sedo auction for £250, seemed like a good price to me as the buyer, what do you think? cheers Mally

I think it was an ok buy, only low exacts but I think it's got legs for selling to end users. I was going to bid on it, but left it in the end, had it been the plural, I would have bid, even though the plural has less exacts, it just sounds better to me.

I think it was a gift at that price, congratulations.
Same here!

I was the one who started the auction and forgot all about it. It ended on a Sunday morning with no reminder from sedo...

Thanks all, I can't recall what I set as my maximum, but I also forgot about it but was really surprised when I got home that night and saw I'd won,

The plural has been up for a while at 2k b.i.n although no takers…
Most of the people in the business don’t tend to think web or any marketing :D) There local client based and targeted but disposal cost in some area's are becoming extremely high so they are looking further, Would say a city firm would be your best bet you might get 1 to 2k with a site no matter how simple that listed would definatly help sell it....

Gift. I was searching for that exact term today myself. Geo-subdom for best results if you should develop it.

i would have thought the hire version better and more searched for and the plural too
but price you got at very cheap. maybe the people who 'manufacture' miniskips would be the dream enduser?

The plural with hire is FTR in .com/.co.uk

This is very interesting advice as it goes against most of the advice I've read (not that I could say either way as I've not tried it myself). Have you had a lot more success developing your own domains using this technique, versus the domains you've developed where you've not used geo-subdomains?

If you've got any examples of sites you could share where you've done this that'd be great thanks!

yeah i meant

miniskips

or miniskiphire

i guess the ftr would be better than some domains regged by some real companies i bet though offering the service, although not great English :)

I've just got midiskip.co.uk which was FTR, seems to be an accepted skip size

I read somewhere that there are no good FTR left, I think this thread disproves that as if you are willing to look you might just find a gem!

Great name by the way.

Yes a good buy IMO.

Thanks

Thanks, also just got maxiskip.co.uk which was also FTR, and is another skip known term

I'm not saying there high search terms, but a good domain to build a site on.
