It's quite annoying as you could be 2nd, you could be 10th - it's a case of "better luck next time".
Think back though - remember when WHOIS was updated every 5 minutes and the DAC didn't return TAGs for registered domains? In those days, when you missed a drop, you had to wait up to 5 minutes before you knew who to curse for getting there before you
