Wind is blowing a gale here all day, no satellite signal on most channels, and even when it does come on, the screen is frozen most of the time , off to find a video feed.

Done these bets for tonight and tomorrow, 6 x £3 doubles and a £2 accumulator

Draw/Czech Republic @ 7/1

Draw/Russia @ 4/1

Germany/Germany @ 17/10

I have done my usual, I will update the stats when I get on my computer on the phone at moment.

@ Seemly, yes, saw that and not sure why, they must be using different rules here, as in a normal league table, Russia would be above Greece on goal difference.

[edit]

Here are the rules for the tournament:

http://www.livescore.com/euro-2012/rules/

Tie-breaker rules

POINT SYSTEM :
Three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for defeat.

TIE-BREAKER RULES :
If two or more teams finish equal on points after all the group matches have been played, the following criteria will be applied to determine the ranking :

(a) Greater number of points obtained in the matches between the teams in question.

(b) Goal difference resulting from the matches between the teams in question (if more than two teams finish equal).

(c) Greater number of goals scored in the matches between the teams in question (if more than two teams finish equal).

(d) Goal difference in all the group matches.

(e) Greater number of goals scored in all the group matches.

(f) Higher position in the UEFA national team coefficient ranking.

(g) Fair Play conduct of the teams (final tournament).

(h) A drawing of lots by the Organising Committee.

There is no need to apply criteria (g) & (h) at this year's championship because there are no teams with equal coefficient under criteria (f).

So, Russia and Greece won, drew and lost 1 match each, but because Greece won this head to head match, they go above them in the table, cruel rule really.

It is strange - but seems fair to me. Both have same points, so it should be the 'better' team to go through - should it be in the number of goals they scored, or the result of when they played each other.

If Team A beats Team B, but Team B scores more goals - should Team B go through if they end up on the same points?

This way seems fairer to me.

What doesn't 't seem fair though is the Greece captain getting booked for diving, when he didn't and should have been awarded a penalty instead. This wrong decision by the ref means he now misses the Qtr Final. Linekar said it can't be overturned (?). Now that it stupid.

i could understand it if the goal difference was the same, as it would go down to the result of their match, but im confused...

Just heard from Lineker... it's down to the head to head match rather than gaol difference. Weird...

I think it's because they only play 3 games so it's not exactly hard for teams to end up on the same points. Goal difference probably wouldn't be the best option with just 3 games mainly because:

One of the teams could score loads of goals in their last game against a team that's already basically knocked out?

Just my opinion though!

mad to think the 2 teams I didn't think would get through have
I actually feel Greece really deserve to go through but Russia could have won tournament on their day

upside this has killed putin :) and the russian supporters are the biggest troublemakers at tournament so good in same ways they're clearing off but one of best footballing sides

tell you what noone has gone through more pain than greece these past few years. could they win it? again?

I do actually think this is a really good way of doing
do the head to head for teams in conflict before goal difference

It will make tomorrows games FASCINATING with germany, denmark, portugal and holland

It will be so sad to see holland go with all their talent and is a side I have always liked since being a kid. always great players
they can still do it! but need to beat portugal and germany need to beat denmark for them
denmark are an honorable team and work hard and deserve to go through too

portugal are owed some bad karma for cheating against us so I'm keeping fingers crossed for holland or denmark
would love denmark to turn over germany
they are as capable as anyone, actually have ideal game for it
1-0

Running total leader board:

team/team x9
team/draw x3
draw/team x4
draw/draw x2

18 bets 15 losses -£21.25

Are you beginning to reach the point (in available odds terms) where even a win won't wipe out the losses?

Passed it; If one ht/ft comes in it is usually 25-1 so at a .50p stake that's £12.50, losses to date exceed that so would need two or 3 wins to move into profit. It is clear that the strategy isn't really worth doing in the long term, that's why the bookies give these odds I suppose.

At least I know how not to do it;);)
