santa was very kind this xmas & gave me a brand new TAG & Nom Membership to play with.. :D

Within a week of getting up and running I've received a couple of TAG Change Notifications for domains I know nothing about??
tried contacting the guy responsible for releasing the domains.. but had no response..

What I'm quite surprised about, is that someone can release domains over to a different TAG without prior consent from the new TAG??

Also, whats quite suspicious, is that the domains are due for renewal 10/12/05??

has this TAG had a run in with the domain registrant and decided to release the TAG hoping the domains will expire?? or maybe it's just a genuine error on the Tag Release form??

Anyway I've pinged Nominet & asked for advice before I release it back to the TAG they came from..

is this fairly common??

I've never had any of these in about 5 years.

Is your tag name similar to someone else's? Maybe they've spelt the tag wrong or something.

If they have released their domains from their TAG then yeah this can happen very easily. Spelling mistakes will happen i'm sure.

Just make sure if you dont have them on renue!! Then they will drop off and thats that.
