Is it possible to place negative keywords on adsence ads? I have looking in my cpanel but cant seem to find anything.

What do you mean? Block certain types of ad from appearing on your website based on the keywords in the text?

yeah but thinking about it, its a silly request so apologies for posting it :).

Actually you can do quite a lot of blocking, just not at the keyword level.

If you choose the "Allow & Block Ads" tab, then you have access to all sorts of ways to control which ads appear on your site.

If you want to block a particular advertiser by URL, pick "Advertiser URLs" from the left-hand navigation.

If you want to block certain categories of ads, there are over 250 categories and subcategories to choose from, under "General categories". Blocking a category automatically blocks all sub-categories as well, so if you want to refine things further you have to go down the category hierarchy and block things at a lower level. However, you can only block 50 categories in total.

You can also block certain types of potentially awkward ads (like dating ads, get rich quick etc.) by choosing "Sensitive categories".

You can stop 3rd party networks showing their syndicated ads on your website (via Google) by choosing "Ad networks".

You can also use the "Ad Review Center" to look at individual ads that have shown against your site, and selectively block them (either just that ad, or all ads from all that advertiser).

Sure, it's a lot of work if you really start to dig deeply, but if you know for a fact that e.g. X type of ad never converts then hopefully some of the tools I mentioned above will let you boot X off!
