I finally got around to playing enough with WP and have produced the following website:

Wow, I've never seen BuddyPress before. Definitely be using it on my WP blogs.

I only have one 'social network' and that is powered by Elgg - Elgg.org which is basically a clone of facebook.

Agreed, buddypress is impressive for a freebie. I was also reading recently that Wordpress MU is being discontinued, and the MU bits merged into Wordpress somewhere around 2.8.x or 2.9.

I'll be using BuddyPress for a couple of projects
