It's 99% about the domain selection and 1% about the script.

Of course, the script has to be functional enough to run auctions, and the site design has to look professional (to the point that end users coming across it for the first time with no prior experience are willing - and able - to use it)

But the main thing is to ONLY have decent, GENERIC names listed. And that's where the discussion has ALWAYS broken down in the past!

DL's system of demanding quite a hefty up-front payment to list domains seems to be one effective way to achieve this - especially since Denys also pre-moderates every single listing, even those for which a fee has been paid.

BTW, even though it's technically a competitor, I think it would be very useful to Acorn users if you showed DL auctions WITH BIDS on the Acorn homepage (in a static, non-scrolly way of course - not a ticker).

Please check "UK Domain Auctions" on the homepage. Their RSS feed title doesn't have the price etc. so I would have to add extra lines. Is this needed?

That's a great start. Perhaps Denys could customise the RSS to give you the data you need, and you could change it to "Top 5 auctions finishing soon" with the current price and also the end time of the auction. That would probably be more useful than showing a dozen or more listings. You could always make it "Top 6", "Top 7" or whatever turned out to fit tidily in the available space once all the data was in place...
