I hope that this thread will serve a purpose both to the eager new members of this community and the (very patient) experienced folk who give up their time to reply on here.

I've read through a number of posts in these section and conducted a few searches looking for domaining guides, books etc.

Perhaps we could use this space to discuss various learning resources - both paid and free - aimed at the beginner/intermediate UK domainer. This, in turn, may reduce the amount of repeat or very similar questions.

Any thoughts?

Cheers Accelerator, nice link.

Here's my contribution: http://www.dnjournal.com/resources.htm

It's on that page that I first heard of AcornDomains!

Agreed Ron Jackson, has a great resource at DNJournal, It is mostly a General Top Level domain (GTLD) resource though. Having been in domains now for about 12 years myself -active in Country Code Top Level domains (CCTLD). for about 2 years
I have learnt the resale market is somewhat different. At GTLDs the market is looking both for generic domains and almost equally 'Marketing" domains. This applies to a much lesser extent at CCtld level which predomanitely is looking for traffic domains.

With hindsight it is quite apparent why this is so -although It came as quite a surprise just how different the markets are. If you spend an hour or ten !! looking at the extensive Sales archives at DNjournal, the picture becomes more clear.

Scotts blog at selfmademinds .com has some good info and a lot of the older posts are a good read... don't know what's happened lately though?

New to domaining? Personally I'd recommend The Procrastination Equation.
