Hello folks!

I ended up here by accident really. I bought my first domain name in about 2003 I think, to point to the home server. I've bought a few more since then for use for online shops, etc. and let a couple lapse as I didn't use them.

I set up my blog about a year ago and as I seemed to get a lot of traffic to one post in particular, I decided to see if I could monetise it. Following on from that I set up a sort-of minisite around the subject of that post, with affiliate links. Then I started reading around about affiliate marketing in general and have recently started my first 'proper' minisite, hence ending up here after looking for keyword targeted domain names. It's all something I do for fun really but the intention is definitely there to do it properly if I can, and make some cash along the way.

I guess why I've bothered to register and post here is that I've always been a sucker for the clever domain name, and I still think I'm going to find that killer domain name that everyone else has missed. I suspect I'm not alone... Found plenty to interest me here so I reckon I'll stick around for a bit!

Welcome to the forum. Keep in mind that regging domains is a lot easier than selling them on, so don't build up too many before you've tried selling a few, you'll learn a lot about what sells and what doesn't. This will apply particularly if you are trying to sell on "clever" novelty/brandable names rather than keyphrase generics (which are easier to value quantifiably).

Rgds

I mostly buy when I have an idea to do something with it, but these don't always happen!
