Lets hope it was (as intended) just to bring pressure. No body in their right mind sees any ongoing involvement in Syria as something to be worthwhile. The whole middle/ far east has to account for itself. The Region will become isolated - If that's what they choose (And probably a puppet of financial aid - which is unneeded)

How can we say we support Democracy, yet watch them fail as they try to become up-to-date (my words) overnight. If we are going to support them - then we owe them more than that. Unless it was ABOUT SUPPORTING THEM TO FAIL. and destabilisation (lets hope not)

The whole sunni / shia sectarian battle ground in the middle east makes Belfast look like a walk in the park.

Our european beurocrats determined the country borders decades ago after the 1st/2nd world wars. The price for that is still being paid.

Add into that global islamification and the vaguries of human nature and it's just a bloody mess we're quite right to steer well clear of.

The US are only in it for self interest and Israel. What makes it most 'interesting' is the actions of Russia and China as well as the apathetic atttudes of of other major european countries within the UN. Maybe they just realise how 'grey' the mess is. Russia and China have to deal most directly with islamic insurgency and have their arms contracts with Middle east dictatorships.

As for the UK, we are NOT and empire anymore and should remember that. We are signaturies to the UN charter and bound to their laws & regulations.
