I set all of my UK domains on Dynadot to use Dynadot privacy, the .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk domains are showing privacy in the Nominet Whois, but all .uk domains are still showing my address details.

I asked my Dynadot account manager to look in to it, and she said:

Some TLDs, such as .UK, do not allow our Domain Privacy to be applied.

Having not used privacy before, this surprised me, why does Nominet allow the other UK extensions to use privacy, but not any .uk domains? I thought I'd ask here first before I ask Nominet about it, in case someone knows the answer, as I can't see any reason for it myself 😯

modify your contact in Dashboard, Account, Web Domain Manager, Contacts

then you should see this:

Public Information
By default Contact information will not be publicly available in the public register and WHOIS
Disclose Name
Disclose Address

Just untick them.

I think this is where it is.

Hi Paul, yes, that would work for not showing address details in the Nominet Whois, but my domains have been moved to Dynadot, and they can't apply privacy to .uk domains, or if I do mark them as private on Nominet, will that, by default, make them private on Dynadot also.

hmm it should do but you would need to test it on a domain tbh

I'll move a couple of .uk back to my tag and mark them as per above, them move them back to Dynadot to see what shows then.

I was more intrigued as to why Nominet don't allow privacy on Dynadot for .uk, but they do for the other UK extensions.

yeah strange let me know how it goes.

Will do.

Moved 2 .uk's back to my tag, set them to hide my address and only show my name, released back to Dynadot, but it can sometimes take hours before the transfer in is processed and they show in my account.

All UK/EU domain owners should have their information redacted as standard in whois since 2018, so there should be no need to apply any privacy service.
