Hi all

When a domain changes hands, do you always have to pay a nominet transfer fee?

I currently use Domain monster, and they allow you to change the registration details, the tag and even transfer to another domain monster account holder for free. But is the transfer official without paying the Nominet fee.

I guess what I'm asking is... Is there any way of transferring ownership of a domain without paying Nominet?

Short answer, no.

Until a domain has been transferred to the new owner via Nominet, it's still owned by the previous registrant, so paying the £10 + VAt is the only option.
