Nominet – the guardians of the. UK domain since 1996 is now a Registry Service Provider for Microsoft’s portfolio of ‘Dot Brand’ TLD (Top Level Domains).
With immediate effect, Nominet’s growing Registry Services team now manages six TLDs for the global technology business – .azure, .bing, .hotmail, .microsoft, .windows and .xbox domains.
A recent Microsoft blog discussed the importance of ‘Dot Brand’ TLDs “for enhancing the security, trustworthiness and integrity of an organisation’s web offerings.”
Eleanor Bradley, Managing Director of Registry and Social Impact at Nominet, said:
“We are delighted to be named Registry Services Provider for Microsoft’s brand TLD portfolio. With more than a quarter of a century experience running .UK we are pleased to offer our services to a growing number of partners worldwide.”
Nominet now has 74 gTLDs under management.
