Hello,

Has anyone had an issue where they cannot login to the nominet online services after registering a new domain. Normally within 48 hours you receive an automated email from nominet but I have yet to get one.

I've tried to reset my password / access my account but I still receive no mail.

Rgds,

Jack

Cheers mate,

Just sent them an email. I don't think they work Sundays so I await a response Monday.

Rgds,

Jack

Just to update this Nominet had to manually activate the account. (As suggested)

Still missing many domains in my account though.

Unfortunately that did not work, any other other ideas?

May sound obvious, but I take it you did actually click the reset password link in the email and set up a new password (as opposed to just requesting the email and then leaving it)? If you have done this then I'm not sure why else they aren't showing, but someone more informed may have an idea.

The only other point I can think to check is that the admin contact is set up correctly with your email. You should be able to verify these details through the registrar you use.

@Ashton Yes, they are recent reg's.

@wb Yes, I've clicked the reset link and set up a new password to no avail. All admin details are the same at the time of registering and now.

I'll email support again, and update should they find a resolution.

They often won't appear in your account until your registrar pays the invoice.

If you whois them do they show as 'Registration request being processed' or 'Registered until renewal date.'

The former but I thought that they will show up in the account anyway. The thing that is wired is some show, some don't. They all have the Registration Request status.

Update:

The domains where spread across multiple accounts under the same email address. Nominet said that they have now merged them all into one single account.

It's strange that when in the Online Services panel it said ''There are currently no available accounts to merge.'' when clearly there was.

Wait, nominet can do this for free?! Brilliant!

Errr, of course its free!

If the registrant names and Tags are the same and you cannot fathom it yourself then Nom will happily take over.

The point is that he had no options in the merge section.

Unfortunately some of mine have different names and they wont let me change them without good reason. Ah well.

How different are the names? If they are the same person but have a variation (e.g. John Smith and J. Smith) then just pop in a request from your Nominet account with the ones you want changed to have them updated. The reason you give can be that you want all your accounts to have the same registrant details so you can merge them.

Some are under a company name and some under variations of my own name (I was stupid and put Ash as opposed to Ashton)

I also have had my name changed (via statutory declaration) so that complicates things further!

Might be just worth getting a tag and shoving them all in there for ease of use.

Ah I see, in that case you could probably get it all sorted for £12 if needed:

1. Request the Ash ones get amended to Ashton for free then merge the accounts together
2. Merge the company domains into one account then do a registrant transfer of them all into the Ashton account
