Hi guys,
just sold a .org.uk to an enduser, nothing earth shattering but quite a nice sale. They don't have a online nominet account like we all do and their developer/it guys somewhere prob has one for their other domain with another registrar, and i doubt they have online logins like we all do as we are in and out of them all time.
Question I have, to do the nominet transfer can they open a nominet online account without a domain? if so link please? ;)

I am suspecting i will have to print off the forms and post to them? and then nominet will email them or post them their online login?

thanks for any help in advance

Its fine, initiate the transfer, when they click on the link in the transfer email the first page asks them if they want to use an existing account or create a new one.

Good to see an enduser buying .org.uk. Are you able to share the domain/price?

no probs

won't say domain, it was a LLL.org.uk though
the buyers were a large housing association, thousands of properties and millions in bank, although strictly speaking 'not for profit' i bet many employees on xx,xxx high salaries, or more

anyway, the lady who enquired was very nice, when she pointed out the above about housing assoc. i knocked price from 500 to 395

gave her all options of paypal, cheque or bank transfer and she paid same day paypal

sorted

Nice one all round. Money to be made in lll.org.uk now I fancy ;)

they clicked the link on my namedrive parked page which took them to one of my sales sites. they filled in contact form.

the rest as they say .........

pred, can I just ask how you got on? I'm about to transfer a .co.uk and am new to the online transfer of registrant service. Is it just as easy as telling them which domain, the email of the new customer and take it from there? How long does the transfer take, instant?

Also, if the new customer uses a different registrar to me, how will they change it so they have control of the domain? I'm with UKReg, will I need to do anything my end?

Welcome any help.

It's almost instant. New holder pays the fee and the domain appears in their account.
