The reason is that the main service providers who have underpinned these 'virtuals' have seen what they needed to see about how this business model has evolved (or not as the case may be), and no longer need to be involved, so are withdrawing their support.

'Free' is never a good foundation for any business, I'm only surprised it has taken this long for the rugs to be pulled to be honest!
