phpbb 3.0.3 help please

Can anyone tell me how to add adsense and aff banners to phpbb 3.0.3. ive tried adding code to overall_header.tpl but i get nothing showing (although i believe this would show up on log in page if it worked which is against goog terms). Any pointers on how and where would be appreciated.

Have you checked the website since?

New Adsense code normally takes about 10 mins or so to show up.
