Pingbacks

Are pingbacks good or bad. I am getting a few pingback requests but not sure if they are good or bad for my site.

Pingbacks are bad. However the whole idea of pingbacks is great.

Unfortunately there are far too many scammers, spammers and scraping merchants out there who abuse pingbacks.

If your only getting a few. Check the webpage or site that is doing the pingback, and if it's a good page/site with clean content on it. Accept the pingback. If it's just some spammer who is after ripping your content don't.

Best way IMO as I've been told is to just ignore them.

I never approve pingbacks, but receiving them is fine and it gets you a backlink which would appear to stay even if you don't approve it at your end. From experience pingbacks only tend to come from poor quality blogs unfortunately though.

Mostly pingback are good because you are getting free backlinks from this and you can also accept pingback from good websites. Mostly pingback sites also gives you visitors because all to be on wordpress and it cached too fast and searchable.
