Surprised it started off as a "hidden gem" @ £50. Does that mean Denys didn't think it was of sufficient qulality to make the main auction straight off?

How much type-in traffic did this domain receive per day?

Hi Foz, around 5 a day - content pulled a bit from Google too. Content can be reinstated immediately after the auction ends.

Yeah, cheap. I contacted 500 end users, and Buyer6 was an end user but it went beyond his limit. I'm not sure if the buyer is an end user or not. We shall see.

Thanks for the positive comments all (apart from Rob) :D

Saw a name or two that was linked to 'end user' type people in google so guessed a few of those would have a war and it would fly. If not I was lurking abit.

Sometimes private sales are the best :)

This is a positive comment! ;)

Surely if you're going to contact end-users and maximise your chances that they'll bid up a name, it's best to have an auction that runs for 2 weeks or a month or something. They won't necessarily be geared up to taking a decision on the hop like domainers can...

Agreed - my suggestion was sealed bids or the like.

However, this has to be placed in the context of a yorkshireman selling in yorkshire. £1 goes a long long way oop there :)

Thanks ratboy, nice sale. Took a shot at £2.5K ;)

I wonder if some end-users would have been put-off by the auction venue? e.g. average brand, lack of contact information (just a contact form, no physical address or telephone number), linking to other sites Sedo and Ebay (cheapens the brand).

I like DomainLore in its function and simplicity, but others coming in not knowing the landscape, the owner and user(s) may think twice?
