Wanted: Website Review Please review my new site: OilPrice.Com

We have just finished building Crude Oil Price, Gold Price and Commodity Charts and i would love to hear your views on the site.
Basically what we do is give away financial data, commodity quotes that would normally cost hundreds or thousands of dollars a month.
We have also created charts and data panels that you only need to copy and paste - so it's incredibly easy to have good looking financial data on your site for free.

We have also lined up some great financial journalists and Economists to add articles to the site - to keep the content updated daily and also be of interest to visitors.
(please don't let the quality of the current content fool you - it's not bad , but what you'll see in a month is in a different league.)

My one concern is that the homepage looks a bit too busy.

Anyway i would love to hear your reviews - sepecially on layout and colours.

Oh yes, really like this one, defo suits the intended audience.

Quite a few trader/comodity sites look like this, I like them to be quite busy showing lots of graphs, prices etc afterall thats what they are intended to show.

If this site really takes off whichI have no doubt that it wouldn't esp as you say you have regular articles from people in the industry then you could of struck oil!! (sorry!!)

I know a guy dealing in shares, has a pile of monitors but only two eyes, these traders like a busy site I guess. You've covered a lot of information on just one page which I think is an achievement in itself.

Good layout and an impressive site, I'm sure you're pleased. My only tiny complaint is what looks like a glow effect on the grey background titles. I think a stroke effect would be more suitable to this.

You are making a mistake with how you link back to your homepage. You shouldn't be linking with /index.php as it is splitting link equity - yoursite.com and yoursite.com/index.php are seen as separate pages (one with pr0, one with pr6). You should link to HOME with your root url, and since the other page has some links, 301 the /index.php to yourdomain.com. Small point, but it doesn't cost anything to fix so its as well done properly.

I used to trade myself, had 8 monitors and 2 plasmas to watch, the screens were packed with flashing tickers.

I would change some of the image headers to H1 and H2 text. Get some keyword focused text in the footer. Some nice chunky text.

Your site look quite popular, not new anymore. I like it. Such an informative site. You did a good job to create such professional and valuable site.

Looks professional, Im not so sure about the border/column widths right on the edge though.

Other than than looks great.
