I have got some dire CTRs on some of my parked domains... reasonable traffic, mind. This is using the 1 click.

How do people find the CTR on the "portal" option? I have moved some across to this to see what happens, but I just thought I'd ask to see how others get on.

Cheers, Luke

generally equally dire.

time and effort needed on keywords I think!

Is there more that ND could do to help us pick better (= higher paying but still relevant) key words?

It's a win win situation - we get more PPC and hence they get more out of their share.

How do the others do it? Do they do it at all?

I wasn't content with the 0.005 - 0.02 being paid for 2 of my domains the CTR was ok, varing around the 30-50% mark.

Ed from ND was kind enough to optimise them (Thanks again Ed) the jury is still out on the deliverability of the new keywords.

Ed helped me last week with a couple of "finance" related domains which now have gone up 1.50 per click.

I think BB is right thou, I also have some domains getting hundreds of visitors and no click throughs.
It would work for both us and NameDrive! More money please :p

If everyone knew the high paying keywords, they would no longer be high paying.

I say ask privately.

What are the CTR's like compared to "other" companies, have you compared them?

Does the look of ND pages assist with CTR?

Yes, the CTR on the portal does generally tend to be pretty low. We are currently re-re-designing the portal and our tech guys are just putting the finishing touches on 1-click templates so we can do all sorts of playing around to get the CTR up.
Incidentally, a couple of weeks ago, we changed the link colour of the ads on our pages to Google Green to reflect Google ads, and the CTR system-wide jumped by over 10%. There are fine lines which make huge changes and we're trying to find all of these to get the most out of the pages :)

As far as determining the highest-paid, most successful keywords... This is clearly in everyone's interests and we are actually considering trying to build some kind of database to gather our highest-paying, most relevant keywords in certain field. You can certainly always write to me and ask if there's anything I can suggest for keywords etc.
