hi people just wondering if you find a domain name but the .com is a premium domain and has a tag for £16k and is parked, is it still worth buying the .co.uk if you wish to just use as a site in the uk? and not abroad. just curious as to how this works thanks

Assuming the .com isn't a trademarked word/brand (i.e. if it was iphone.com, you wouldn't be able to just buy and use iphone.co.uk without getting sued.) then there's nothing wrong with purchasing the .co.uk for your business.

Could this question not have been an update to your other thread which was about these mythical premium domains?

Also that is the owners price guide for the domain, if it went for that price then its a bit different. you should go on what you think the domain is alone not the .com is going for x price.

if you look at the rss feed for sedo and say that a .com domain went for this price then that must mean that the .co.uk is worth a few bob. Doesnt always work like that. but can be used to give you ideas

Do some research and if you think the .com is worth the 16k asking price then it's worth a punt on the .co.uk but if you intend on using the .co.uk for your own site then it doesn't matter what the .com is worth, but do check for trademarks, also is the .com a word which is only used i America ? if so then usually the .co.uk won't be worth anything more than reg fee.

Good luck 8)
