PreOrder not ordered?

I preordered a .London domain with a registrar in April for £41.99p

I still hadn't received an email from DotLondonDomains looking for verification that I live in London. So I contacted them and they said I'm not on their system. I went back to my registrar and asked them what's going on and they said they'd look into it. That was Monday. Wednesday night now and still no reply.

Without naming the registrar (in case there is some logical reason - although I'm starting to loose hope :sad

has anyone else heard of problems like this with preordering .London domains?

The registrar I pre-ordered with, emailed me late last night.
Here's the gist of it;

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Unfortunately we look to have had a prior application for this domain on our platform meaning that we were unable to action this on your behalf.

I have issued a full refund of this order for you however please let me know if you need anything else.

Given that as soon as I pre-ordered it with them in April I immediately re-tried to place the order again just to see if their "one order per domain" was correct and it wouldn't let me order (even when I logged out) so not sure how I could order in the 1st place if they already have an order for this before me.

Either way, very disappointing service given;

a) I had to chase them up myself - they should have easily been able to see it was double booked on their system when submitting it with the registry and

b) there wasn't even an apology (unless you count the word "unfortunately" an apology.

Well at least they're issuing a full refund. Which i'll look out for in the coming days.
