I'll start the discussion, unless someone else has hit send first

I would choose two of these to focus on : cadeaux.co.uk and lichfield.co.uk

Although cadeaux has plenty of competition and fails the radio test, it is a solid French word for presents where it would be difficult for any one of the many existing related owners to claim exclusivity

Lichfield is a solid geo for a midrange location with Dr Johnson links

There are a few other generic first/surnames that might sell

Everything else suffers from being potentially problematic, obscure or .org.uk

So, a controversial start, but let's see what others have to say - I'm genuinely interested in the responses too

Id be interested in: luke.co.uk if you come up with a price.

Id be interested in Izzy if you come up with a price.

I agree with David. I would estimate that 90 per cent of these would not be catch lists if dropped. There are a few gems amongst them which could raise a few thousand between them, like luke, shane, trevor etc but most worthless in my opinion.

I think you should have some kind of for-sale sign on the landing page, it helps.

Try boot fairs or summer fetes :)

Unfortunately it’s a case of put in the legwork or pay someone else too, I’d start with ones that are brands, products, large companies, solicitors accountants estate agents etc. Put them on the usual places sedo’nt etc and let the vultures pick away at them, Individual landing page and price might help

For the less in demand what is ebay etc like for names probably crap but might get a little more interest than domain forums the audience is big a lot of vain people buying crap on there so who knows?

I've sold a couple of second names by emailing end users, found them by searching "@secondname.co.uk" on google and it brought up domains containing it, "FirstnameSecondname.co.uk"

Doesn't take too long, maybe worth a go one afternoon.

I would think most people would buy them for vanity email addresses which would presumably make the .org.uk's worthless (since far too much risk of typos sending e-mails elsewhere).

Some of them look like really 3rd rate spellings, Jema, Kristel etc.

I'd take a couple of the better ones like Luke & Shane and get some Filipino on £1 an hour scouring the web via Google finding anyone posting publicly under either name. Then hit them all with a standard email giving them a chance to buy it (via a link to Domainlore)

With hindsight I was less than effusive about various perfectly solid first names and surnames - I'm sorry, please consider what others have said.

I'll just make a few observations about some specific names that are definitely not recommendations because of my ignorance of the IP implications :

- Dylan Thomas was born 100 years ago this year
- (John) Lennon was born 75 years ago this year
- (Natalie) Imbruglia hits 40 this year
- George Best died 10 years ago this year
