Did there used to be a valuations forum here? I have a bunch of .co.uk's I'd like to sell, debted.co.uk is pretty representational - tried ebay, couldnt work with sedo's mechanism any other suggestions gratefully appreciated.
I find sales fall in either sit and wait or actively seek out potential buyer personally never really liked sedo etc if the names good it sells it self but many a niche that may be good but the end user maybe isn’t so internet savvy tends to get lost on the likes of them more so in the xx to mid xxx price bracket
When you send emails tailor you sales pitch accordingly for those already at the top of search results getting them to re brand etc is a more uphill struggle so sale to them maybe target towards stopping there competition having the name, as a feeder, Lowering there ppc etc
Those new or low down maybe more along the lines the name will get them higher listing hark on about the wonders of generic etc Just a simple holding page with its for sale an easy way to contact you learn about how to transfer names, take payments, find out about your current registrar transfer policy ( some are a pain in the arse and expect you to pay even to push a name to someone using the same registrar) some do it free ? Learn about nom etc policy fees etc timescales.. Then go forth and bug the hell out of all the potential punters out there with you names for sale….
Many thanks for your time very much appreciate your input. Just out of curiosity have .co.uk's lost any value of late with the new TLD's flooding in, I heard a while back that .uk was about to wreck any value when if it's launched? Thanks again namealot
co.uk's lost a wedge of value because of .uk coming. Which bluntly put it ANYBODY at nominet who gets a bonus based on earnings greed, to get a bigger bonus regardless, when no one wanted .uk.
This is slowly reversing tho and prices are bouncing back
But you'd have to have something worth selling for anyone to bother, why don't you post them in the appraisal section - or for sale here?
Logically, the only reason you probably wouldn't do that is if they turned out to be worth less then you imagined (some people find that upsetting) - for all I know you might have some crackers!
