I've created a site aimed at first time buyers

www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk

One of the main features of the site is its Forum.

I want to start approacing estate agents to get them listed in my directory, but before i can do this i want to have a reasonably active forum, so when they look at the site they can see i'm already getting visitors.

Do any of you have any suggestions on hows best to attract members and posters?

Thanks for your time

Hi There

You have chosen a good sector for your site. Have you heard of a4uforum.co.uk, because you'll get a wealth of info there.

You need to search engine optimise your site. Learn how to and it will benefit you.

You need to get people to link to your site.

If you are prepared to give http://www.navito.co.uk a prominent link from your home page which you will keep there, I would be prepared to give you a link from my links page, which will get you into Google quickly.

Start a blog to get links into your site, a bit like this one:

http://navito.blogspot.com/

Good luck with the site.

I saw a site a while back called paidposts.com (im nothing to do with it)

They can provide you with posts in exchange for cash. No idea what the quality is like, but maybee its worth looking at a service like this to generate a bit of intrest?

On DNForum there is a section where you can pay people (in DNF $) to post on your forum. I have done that a few times when my forum has gone a bit quiet.

Stephen.

Hi accellerator

I've PM'd you.

I've taken a look at SEOchat thanks for the link, i realise the site needs a lot of work to optimise it, i've started work on the site now.

Thanks
