So is anyone bothering with .PW? "PW is the domain name for the Professional Web, the new online destination for professionals and businesses across the world."

.tel was all the range and so was. co and. xxx

Don't waste your money mate !

.pw = professional web

My view >

.pw =
pounds wasted
pretty w*nk

Any new tld cctld etc is a bigger gamble personally the ones I have bothered with have paid of on around a 50/50 basis My key has been very generic, sort after fields etc among other things I go if top tld,s and cctld.s etc are all developed if there not much much harder? Then there’s a market but be realistic if you can make 3 to 5 times the fee your normally on too a winner Normally it’s a quick smash and grab and sell for me at least..

Thanks for that clarification Boxerdog, I've been racking my brains trying to think what Country it represented (I should have just looked it up).

Professional Web but, anybody can register - doesn't sound very professional to me

I took a punt on .la (Laos) being good being rebranded as the domain Los Angeles, I ended up dropping them all, same with the few dozen .tel I had, and the dozen .co, just ain't worth a damn.

All I got is Bristol.pw. Worth a punt with one of them at Name.com where it's just at $8.. Doubt I will get any others though.

Yeah I thought what the hell and took:

DiscountCodes
Solicitors
NoWinNoFee

I don't know why really, just a punt that will either pay off or wont, I'm not overly excited by it so wont be holding my breath.

"P.pw & W.pw sold for $8k each"

I think the thing with these kinds of extensions is to buy them and sell them straight away, whilst the hype's there.

I saw imbd.co (not even imdb) go for $XXXX at the godaddy auctions soon after .co was launched.

Saw someone on twitter earlier saying that only 4,000 .pw domains sold in the first 30 mins of launching.

Might sound like a decent figure but it's not really.

Completely true, I got sucked into .Asia and .Mobi when they first came out but luckily managed to quickly flip them at a profit, not all of them, the rest I let drop but was worth it. I will only hang on to them for the year and then let them go if there's no interest.

Also got Carpentry.pw.

Oh dear this is the addict in me. Also picked up Bathrooms.pw.

You're most likely right mate but I won't lose sleep over such a small amount if nothing comes of these three domains.

It's the country code for Palau.
I can't see any commercial significance at all.

Tuvalu's .tv worked because TV represents television, but why PW, not a chance in my view.
You will see sales but how else can they promote a surge in investment.

Nope not getting any .pw

Still got some decent keywords in .me like "recruitment" etc and .pro "entertainment" with limited offers so not wasting any more cash.

To me .pw is similar to .im its a cctld rebranded poorly and only makes sense for its original purpose.

In a similar vein noticed microsoft had a tv advert last night ending in .ie for I presume internet explorer. I'm in scotland not ireland so perhaps something like secure.pw would be worth a punt for someone somewhere.

I don't think .ie was ever promoted as internet explorer but it is popular in it's own use and Microsoft do use it in Ireland.

I should imagine every large company who have a base in Ireland use it, it is the Ireland country code.
Not sure if it is still the same but ie registration used to be restricted to entities based in Ireland.

Yeah every large company uses .ie in Ireland.

It is still the same as far as I know. You can't register a .ie unless you've got a business based around the name etc.

That's why there are still some nice .ie's available.

I though pigeon shit was the lowest

we now have Pigeon Wank

Doodlebug I thought so also just can't see Whitney would be using .ie when it would be more appropriate or .co.uk (wish I could remember the URL now.)

Pred believe it's the same colour also!
And they are releasing the 2 character domain already so must be spanking it raw..
