If this new super rat stumbles across the new superbug we keep hearing about, we could be looking at a rodent the like of which the world has never seen (well, after the Daily Mail have whipped up a little paranoia ! ). Or an angry mouse with a bad cough..

I'm stockpiling Camembert and Benadryl just in case. Best not to chance it :)

Ps. it is rather large isn't it ? It doesn't look like a coypu to me.... whatever happened to the body ? Cover-up ! it's a rodent Roswell !

me and the wife just had a nice evening walk around swanage and came face to face with a huge badger...lovely creature though, not like that rat, i think it may have had sexy times with a dog looking at the size of it!!

We need a bigger trap!

At least you'll notice the holes in your skirting.

Two people from the Bradford area have told me of the existence of "king rats" in the past, and neither was prone to exaggeration.

From what they said, that's a small one ...

Interesting. All joking aside, do you think that really is a rat then ? ?

If it is, that thing is actually pretty darn scary, especially if you've got young kids.

Seems odd that they hid it's head from the camera.

I love in the Sun's article how they drafted in a local expert...

'Yorkshire Rat Club president Colin Arundel said rodents, like humans, could simply be getting bigger as food becomes more and more available.'

They spend their evenings watching slideshows to figure that one out ? :)

Yes, I think it's tail looks very coypu like.

However, the local expert did say rats grow bigger if they eat alot. He was asked specially by the sun and probably looked at the picture and everything :)

Where's the bloomin body now ? Should be in the british museum !

Ps. there's a new craze sweeping the local chavs..they gather in groups frightening the old folk. The Sun has alot to answer for !

This scaremongering is sheer madness. I note in the absense of a spokesman form the local croc club, they took journalistic licence in offering the following unqualified insights to help reader's fully appreciate the gravitas of the situation -

'The creature — with razor sharp teeth — was seen swimming around sailing boats'

Razor sharp, hey ?

and this little gem -

'Wild crocodiles are extremely dangerous to humans, whom they often chase and then attack.'

Really? Hmmm, powerful stuff indeed...does anyone remember Duncan Norvelle ?

11 degrees and floaty things is enough to keep me out of the water. The croc's welcome to it :)

Bloomin Sun...

Ha haa, classic :)

Nice mugshot...the rat probably took one look at that magnificent goatee and died of fright :D

I love the photo caption -

'Monster ... Lee With Rat'

Harsh but true....I can think of a better one....

'Beauty Contest Shocker As Judges Call Dead Heat'

He Hee...
