Morning all. I've been contacted by a local company as thier .co.uk domain expires today.

Relevant dates:
Registered on: 18-May-2005
Renewal date: 18-May-2007
Last updated: 27-Apr-2007

They've asked the current registrar to re-new a few times but nothings happened. The question is, is it possible to fill out the Nominet TAG change form today, send it back, wait for the TAG to be changed and then bring it to another registrar ie 123reg even though by the time this has all happened the domain may have gone into the suspended state?

So the question is can I bring an suspended domain to a new registrar?

First thing to do is to talk to Nominet.

I had a similar situation and they helped me resolve it smoothly.

They directed me to an online transfer form where I could pay for transfer and it also requested payment but further on in the form it allowed me to choose to pay renewal fees as the new TAG rather than the old.

They're very helpful when they choose to be!

They spoke to Nominet and they said wait 7 days to see if the current registrar re-news, if not they will take over.

I'll see how we get on with the TAG change.

Thanks for the reply :)

Just an update. I changed the tag through Nominet even though it was in the "Renewal required" Status and re-reged as soon the domain was in my control panel. Job done.
