redirects

i have just purchased a domain relating to another one that is established,the question is if i redirect a website will google be able to spider the original website(before redirection) for seo purposes,because i have a white label site that i cannot enter any keywords or do any seo to the site because it is out of my control,so i thought i would buy a similar domain and redirect it to my white label site,does anybody have any advice?

a 301 of olddomain to newdomain will indeed do the trick.

301 will work prefect when the destination website has similar or the same content of the original website. Google knows well this trick now so if you want to do it make sure to have the same content on the destinaton website at least for the first month.
