Renewals didn't trigger

Has anyone else had domains that were set to renew correctly, but the renewal wasn't triggered on time? I've just had an email from Nominet about an expiry for a name which is set to renew for 1 year 1 day before expiry.

Maybe Russell really did keep the whole company functioning?
