What's the absolute last point you can renew a domain? as neither nominet or heart could do one of mine yesterday.

I've seen names I've been watching renewed the day before they drop, I presume as long as the automaton gets the request before it's drop, then you are OK.

Nominet can put an internal 'do not cancel' on domains if required. Then they'll never drop. If you're having issues with registrar renewal for a suspended domain they may do this.

You can renew them upto the point they get cancelled assuming they havent been detagged.

I have renewed a name in the past on the day it was due to be deleted

So, have asked before but forgot again sorry.

When your domain comes to end of 2 year reg, how long before expires, and gone forever, is it 60 days?
(nb . i read the post that said could have word with nominet) but i normally reg well in time but recently am short and need to leave to closer the line.

thanks in advance for the answer. cheers

Remember that when it goes suspended it will no longer resolve. If the name has traffic/rankings you will lose some/all of it.

Details of the drop cycle Here for people that have forgotten all about one of the best domain sites there ever was :)

WEBHOUND often renew their domains at the very last moment. Just to annoy domainers.
Then just to be extra cruel they let a few drop.
