Ha... no and I never will anymore. I also know a few others on here who have vowed not to. I always think some sellers are missing an opportunity when I see them promote their domain name here for auction on DL, i know that I and a few others will not even go and look.

Oh, I only said DL because that's the most prominent place I can think where you get .UKs sold on their own

I would lean heavily towards .UK never catching on, but I would still buy one if it took my fancy and the price was right

I caught East dot uk which I quite like and will hang on to

I actually like the .uk but I think it was introduced many years too late. So now it's become an aesthetic thing.

You make a good point there regarding .uk being superior for longer or two+ word domains. That's a possible likely source of increasing prominence. But overall I think .uk will take over. It's hard to think of a situation where something simpler that does the same job doesn't eventually take over.

For the record, I still use Domainlore, I find it invaluable, but only whilst there are buyers!

Back on subject, likely the winner of the .co.uk was pressured into paying more to marry up the pairing. The current messy situation courtesy of Nominet.

DL doesn't required you to sell the pair.

The owner of .uk either put it up for sale after .co.uk was listed and set it at the same time or both domain owners agreed to auction for same time as this was likely to get the best price for both.

They were caught by two different tags on the 18th December, so is a sensible strategy for them to be sold at a similar time. Has seen the .uk overtake the .co.uk on a few occasions now, such is the added pressure to buy both. It could be that because the times were so close, it resulted in two bidders fighting for both extensions, which is only a good thing for the sellers. Congrats to them.
