I am having a clear out of my names and getting rid of the ones I have no actual interest in the subject...bought this little gem which I Believe is a popular handicraft type hobby and the figures seem to have shot up since I bought it.

RUBBER STAMPING (ORG/UK)
Local Exacts for March - 74,000
AVE EST CPC - £1.29

Any Idea on Value and potential for sale.

Cheers

Suprised with them local exacts

Seems funny how they're almost dead between May and September ?

Given that people are more likely to be reading on the subject rather than buying products and the fact that searches are quiet half the year and the fact that it's a .org.uk then I'm thinking about £20 tbh.

The way I read it is it looks likes a winter hobby that is getting more and more popular. Lots of rich middle class ladies making things for christmas perhaps. Are most domainers male...seems to me some have a blind spot when it comes to things that ladies do!!!

Another way of looking at it is that the figures are completely incorrect, which is my bet. If [rubber stamping] was super seasonal, the [rubber stamps] would be seasonal too.

These are the monthly figures for [rubber stamping] with most recent months first:
74000, 60500, 60500, 33100, 60500, 49500, 3600, 1600, 1600, 1300, 1600

And these are the stats for [rubber stamps] which is the dominant term in the niche:
60500, 49500, 49500, 27100, 40500, 33100, 40500, 40500, 33100, 33100, 40500

There's no corresponding seasonal trend at all on rubber stamps, so I'd say that for whatever reason the exacts for the first term are only accurate up to September and after that they are way out. That coupled with the org.uk extension makes this a reg fee name for me, unless you develop it and make some money.

Rubber Stamps can be used in business - ie Invoice/date stamps etc

Rubber stamping is a sepearate hobby type thing that could be gaining popularity for all we know....Mayby it features on a daytime TV programme that we all dont know about - I dont know much about the google figures - but really can they be that much wrong???

I think a sale in the low hundreds would be good. rubberstamps would be the better term. An affiliate site would make a bit of money ...

Rgds

There are loads of terms with Google stats that are way out, see [yellow trousers] for example.

Sure there are other uses for rubber stamps but they are a basic requirement in rubber stamping so the two are linked however you want to look at it.

As it's an appraisal thread I'm giving you my honest opinion based on my reasonably in depth knowledge of both the exact match tool and of generic domain names in general - whether you agree with me of not is another matter entirely.

If you'd like an alternative view see the Google trends for the two terms.

yes then we had the flights blip...most domains containing flights shot up into the millions then the following month sank back into the oblivion.

it also has a tendancy to pick up correct order of domains i:e "mobilephones" and "phonesmobile"

we have a new keyword tool hope this increases the accuracy....

Dean look at TYs domains, he knows what's what, If this was any good then he would have bought it off you.

Good luck with it

Dont get me wrong..I know this is no world beater.....Just suprised that you cannot trust Google figures and they would be that much out and making a point that you cant know everything about everything and that if Rubber stamping was a craze that had suddenly taking off we wouldn't all nessesarily know about it....

....and if Rubber stamping was a craze that had suddenly taking off we wouldn't all nessesarily know about it....

The above was why I posted the Google trends link, it's a useful backup to GWT and gives another view of how popular something might or might not be.

Don't get me wrong mate, I'd love to be proven wrong - the more valuable domains are the better for everyone on average, but sometimes I think it's better to be realistic.

This is an .org.uk domain, not a .co.uk, and there are amazing keyword.org.uk names being sold for high £xx - low £xxx all the time - if fact there have been a couple of org.uk corkers posted this week.

All the best either way though.
