Agreed. If he'd set up ryanairsucks.co.uk or ihateryanair or ryanairlostmyluggage.co.uk and set up the site on that then fine. There's provisions in the policy for sites of such nature. But using the name 'ryanair' was a mistake.

ryanairsucks.co.uk.... free to reg.

Ok the right side won here .......

:D

What an excellently put together opinion... and isn't it interesting comparing this Expert's Decision with others.

It just goes to show that the current DRS can produce the right result in an exceptionally fair-minded manner.

Okay, there are changes that are needed to be made in procedures - and much more clarification offered to the layman where domains and domain policies are concerned, particularly in the fast-changing Internet world - but IMHO it does demonstrate the value of the Nominet DRS and underlines the importance of as wide a spectrum of people as possible helping to improve it even further when the DRS review takes place.

It also, perhaps, suggests that we should look at the way Experts are selected by Nominet, and any possible "Review" panel (mentioned in other threads on AD Forum) being able to suggest the exclusion of particular Experts if their opinions are shown to be continually controversial.

On this occassion, Well done Nominet DRS

His new site is ranked 9th on google.co.uk for the search term "ryanair complaint"

Ryanair lost the dispute for ryanaircampaign.org:

Ryanair loses bitch site name-grab claim | The Register

"But the one man WIPO panel ruled otherwise. It said the site - which offers ways for customers to complain to Ryanair by fax, phone and email - is not acting in bad faith, nor is it causing confusion among internet users searching for the actual Ryanair website. Therefore the complaint was denied"
