Ive had this domain name about 9 years and done nothing with it...or any of my others as it happens, so i'm just dipping my toe in as a new member to see how it goes with you guys 'n' gals!

Reg fee unless you develop it.
That's a bit of a strong statement saying safe betting, you need to have a good system for that site ;)

Maybe it will work best as a rate and revie style website for betting sites, ie bet at the most trusted (safest).

With some of the cpa deals out there it could be a nice little earner.

Thanks doodlebug and lufc for your responses!
I take on board what you each say, but I'm pleased with lufc's optimism, but
being a beginner I will need to 'decipher'.
Thanks again

The good news is that .co.uk is one of the more active extensions for gambling stuff. I've done a lot of sales in gambling and a lot of my customers have been in the UK.

The bad news is that if you look at other extensions available, "safe" has tended to work nicely with .org given the trust factor associated with .org, and not only is safebetting.org available, but it's NEVER been taken. To me at least, it signifies a bit of weakness in the term.

I do think if you use it and put up something relevant to the name, it can work out. But on its own, I don't think it would have much value.

I wonder if the 'IDIOTS GUIDE' publishers do a domainers book, for beginners like me!

No, but most of what you need is available for free on this site. It will only cost you your time.

Your domain means little to most people and is worthless on its own. If you are just starting out, developing this domain is just going to give you one headache after another.

There is money to be made in this game, but I wouldn't start with this name when there are so many great names available for up to a few hundred pounds, and there are even good unregistered domains available if you know what to look for.

I have these names below, and wonder should I pick one to concentrate on and learn with.
I would be interested in which, if any, you would choose to work on?

AVeryHandyMan
Tradeswomen
Electricks
Businessgirls
Quickstaff
Boatpeople
Safebetting

All are co.uk but averyhandyman is also .com

No, none of them are good.

You can make money with any domain if you throw enough time and money at it. BUT it is far easier to develop sites on domains that are terms that are actually searched for, and that money can be made from the visitors to the site.

Take a look for product domains but stuff like kettles;co;uk will be gone, you might get something like black kettles.

Check the product on Google keyword tool

Make sure you put settings to UK and exacts rather than broad, if you get 1000 plus local exacts then reg it.

Don't go for things that only sell for a few pence each, find something which sells for at least £10, based on 10% commission you will get £1 per sale.

1 sale every 3 months would at least cover the reg fee
