Did you spend $2445 on this domain? For some reason that's the figure that I'm getting when I search on the net but it's probably unreliable. I have some .co domains but at the moment the value is not immediately obvious. More .co domains need to be developed before we can really see the value. For things like adwords etc. having a .co would be good as hopefully soon people will see them as 'company'
No. I googled and found that info too. No idea what they are talking about. It was only just released as part of the Landrush afaik, and the auction only just ended a couple of days ago i.e. *after* that post was made on dnforum.

Oh that's strange then that it has that information maybe it was the variant with the hyphen in it that got that price. Good that you won the landrush auction, I am debating entering a landrush auction soon but might wait until the end of the auction and see at that time(I know they extend it) whether the price is much more than I am prepared to pay. Think there are only 3 other bidders.
I think it's a pretty good name. I'm just thinking who would buy it. Someone interested in setting up a brand around scifi I guess. That means a sale to a media company or big affiliate. Although I haven't bought any so far, I like .co domains a lot because the extension is short and brandable.
I reckon you should be able to achieve a good exit multiple when you decide to sell.
I was in quite a few landrush auctions and didn't do much bidding as the prices rapidly went beyond what I thought was reasonable.
I did buy about 40 3 letter .COs in general availability (pre-registration via NameJet) and just got an offer via Sedo for $1000 for one - so perhaps the market is about to take off!

I think it has a good chance of taking off. Obviously I am basing this purely on the fact that .co is short, easy to say and an abbreviation of company, making it perfect for marketing and branding. In terms of memorability and branding, .co is extremely strong, and that's where I think the market improvement will come from.
I would say it's too early to comment but if you get a decent offer now then take it because other extensions have been out before and not lived for long, a perfect example is .mobi, it was great at first and some passed for big money but now you can reg some strong keyword domains because no one wants them.
Right now I would say about low xxx but moreat the bottom end of the scale tbh.
