I don't get it. I've heard this a thousand times over the years, but IMO, as long as there are search engines out there serving content via algorithms there will always be a need for SEO

Search is the wrong thing to be focusing on. Your focus should be on human interest, and then on business model, i.e. how you can convert that to revenue.
