I sold a domain via Sedo on 18th December and payment was made within minutes on the same day (by a member on here as it happens), yet despite myself and they buyer adding comments in the transfer overview no one has got back to either of us.

My last comment "....Hello, is there anybody there???????....." was on the 21st December and there has been no reply yet to that and no confirmation of them having received the payment let alone sending it to me.

I need the money as I really need to at least think about starting my christmas shopping soon as I don't want to leave until the last minute like I usually do.

Anyone know if there is anyone around at Sedo that could help me out of this predicament?

We're also not getting any response. DNJournal.com were also left in the lurch and had to publish an abbreviated sales report without any any sedo input. They say:

Christmas is just two days away and many offices have already shut down or at least let key staffers head home early. That was the case at Sedo this week. With our normal contact person on holiday, we did not receive their usual sales data report and were unable to reach any of our many other contacts there to track it down.

heheh, you wrote that on the 23rd! :D

At the least you think they would set up an autoreply to let people know when they are back.

Stange, considering domains/domaining is their bread and butter. You would think they would have had the foresight to send it a couple of days earlier!

Hi Redbird.

Please let me know the domain and I will chase up.

Kind regards

Joanna

Is there anyone yet back at Sedo's transfer centre? I've been emailing them on an outstanding transfer since 22 December without the courtesy of a reply. Very poor service and makes you wonder what you're paying them 10% for :(

Hi Nigel

Different domains are assigned to different transfer agents.

Your agent may not be back from holidays.

Please could you let me know the domain and I will get someone in the transfer department to respond to you.

Kind regards

Joanna.

Please email me directly at [email protected]

As I originally started this, my update is that I have today received my payment so I'm happy.

Thanks Joanna

Hi Nigel

I did get your message. I just forgot to turn my out of office message off yesterday.

Kind regards

Joanna

I've got confirmed transfers since early January that have yet to be settled in my account. I'm noticing that Sedo are hanging on to money longer and longer as the same happened before Christmas. Is it just me or is the general experience recently?

Stephen.

I noticed you have to put a comment in telling Sedo the transfer been complete, so a transfer agent will deal with it, just keep adding comment until they pay you.

It says in the transfer centre:

"Kindly notify us when you have initiated the transfer so that we can inform the buyer.

As soon as the transfer has been completed, we will send payment to you."

It doesn't say I have to monitor this myself and do the work for them. What do I pay the £35 minimum commission for?

Stephen.

well if you don't post a comment it is not on their priority list I guess, when you post a comment at least you will get someone to look at it.

That's what I did yesterday, transfer completed in morning waited till afternoon and nothing, so posted comment and credit note created in a few hours.

Also I am sure the value sold has a lot to do with it as well, well at least you only paid £35, costed me £225 yesterday, and felt it's all diy.

I wish the transfer agents were more effecient - how hard is it to check the whois?

I don't usually add any coments to say transfer completed unless a few days have passed and nothing happened. Apart from my original post in this thread have rarely had a problem, they usually pick up on the transfer same/next day in my experience.

I dont think they're ineffecient I just think there aren't enough of them.

Please bear in mind that on average each transfer agent deals with about 250 transactions on a daily base currently.

Juggling 250 deals at any one time must be a real nightmare, particularly if a couple are going tits up. Get some more staff Sedo!!

True, I wonder how many sales were cancelled due to slow transfers, I am sure they can afford a few more staff.

Just to add my 2 cents - Having sold a low value domain in the last couple of days, personally I found Sedo to be much more responsive then normal. I do tend to post comments like "Transfer Initiated", "Transfer Complete" etc. which does seem to help. Payment was sent the following morning and within an hour or so of uploading the invoice the buyer requested so I certainly can't complain.
