Shame on Jill Finney, shame on the executives.

The chairman of the CQC, David Prior, who has been in the post for four months, said he was "desperately sorry" that the situation had arisen.

"Our job is to inspect hospitals, and we were not doing it properly," he said, and added that "we have been... giving assurances to the public that were not backed up by expert inspection."

He said that the previous "dysfunctional" management team at the organisation had been replaced: "The chairman, the chief executive, the deputy chief executive have all gone... and there were no pay-offs, nothing like that."

But in a meeting in March 2012 between the author of the report - Louise Dineley, the CQC's head of regulatory risk and quality - and the three others, Ms Dineley said she was told to delete the report by Ms Finney and that Ms Jefferson had "verbally agreed".

Ms Dineley claimed that Ms Finney, who has now left the CQC, said to her "read my lips" when she gave the instruction.

From Nominet:

The increasing public scrutiny over our CCO's former role at CQC has made it impossible for her to continue with her role and responsibilities at Nominet.

With regret, we felt it necessary to terminate Jill Finney's employment with immediate effect. Ms Finney will be paid one month's salary in lieu of notice.

So glad she has been sacked ! what a shocking story.....

She's been sacked by Nominet, got to give them it for acting quickly'ish. Minimal pay off.... can't really complain to be honest.

Hmmm... did the Directors of Nominet do their due diligence prior to hiring her?

Be interesting to see if anything comes to light either from her (or anyone else) that Nom chose to ignore in order to hire her - now that would provide a need for a new board!

We warned them about her on the nom forum in February, got it all in writing...... not looking good for nom. Why did they not investigate?

Anyone with Nom forum access https://forum.nominet.org.uk/showthread.php?t=283

I recommend screenshotting (as a PDF, for example) anything you want to be 100% sure will still be around to discuss later. Make sure you print the full URL of the document(s) and the date/time on each page as well.

Very true, but they hardly had any other option with this one.

Oh I don't know about that, misleading members, denying knowledge of editing reports, maintaining deceptions, the lists go on ... they are still there. This is not a normal company mate.

I know what they are like only too well, I saw first hand how they deal with things. Shabby on the whole.
