I've used Barclays for over 10 years, never had a reason to change.
Only problem I've ever had was when I changed from paper certs to online and there was about a 10 day period when I couldn't trade them. Unfortunately it was during that 10 day period that the tech stocks bubble burst and no prizes for guessing what 90% of mine were in?
can't say i'd recommend any for physicals. most are ok until you need support. I use halifax who are ok for trading uk stocks online but if you have any issues.......good luck. they managed to lose certificates of mine etc..
if you have the experience and at least 10k i'd recommend trading cfd's instead. gnitouch / mfglobal are good.
I also have a spreadbetting account at Igindex for the day trades, if you are interested in the very short term, although doesn't have to be that short term.
